Favorite songs

I absolutely LOVE 80’s music so of course my favorite song would come from that time. Thanks to lyrics.com for the exact lyrics so I wouldn’t forget. ๐Ÿ˜‚

No One is to Blame by Howard Jones

You can look at the menu, but you just can’t eat

You can feel the cushion, but you can’t have a seat

You can dip your foot in the pool, but you can’t have a swim

You can feel the punishment, but you can’t commit the sin

And you want her, and she wants you

We want everyone

And you want her and she wants you

No one, no one, no one ever is to blame

You can build a mansion, but you just can’t live in it

You’re the fastest runner but you’re not allowed to win

Some break the rules, and let you cut the cost

The insecurity is the thing that won’t get lost

And you want her, and she wants you

We want everyone

And you want her and she wants you

No one, no one, no one ever is to blame

You can see the summit but you can’t reach it

It’s the last piece of the puzzle but you just can’t make it fit

Doctor says you’re cured but you still feel the pain

Aspirations in the clouds but your hopes go down the drain

And you want her, and she wants you

We want everyone

And you want her and she wants you

No one, no one, no one ever is to blame

No one ever is to blame

No one ever is to blame

If you don’t know this song, it’s really good! I grew up an only child so I got the blame for lots of stuff, even if the cat did it. So that song helped me even though I know it’s about lovers not getting what they want. My other favorite 80’s song that I’ve always said if I was to ever get married again that this would be the wedding song:

The Promise by When in Rome

If you need a friend

Don’t look to a stranger

You know in the end, I’ll always be there

But when you’re in doubt

And when you’re in danger

Take a look all around, and I’ll be there

I’m sorry, but I’m just thinking of the right words to say

I know they don’t sound the way I planned them to be

But if you wait around a while, I’ll make you fall for me

I promise, I promise you I will

When your day is through

And so is your temper

You know what to do

I’m gonna always be there

Sometimes if I shout

It’s not what’s intended

These words just come out

With no gripe to bear

I’m sorry, but I’m just thinking of the right words to say

I know they don’t sound the way I planned them to be

But if you wait around a while, I’ll make you fall for me

I promise you, I promise you I will

I’m sorry, but I’m just thinking of the right words to say

I know they don’t sound the way I planned them to be

And if I had to walk the world, I’d make you fall for me

I promise you, I promise

I’m sorry, but I’m just thinking of the right words to say

I know they don’t sound the way I planned them to be

And if I had to walk the world, I’d make you fall for me

I promise you, I promise you I will

I also like a few new songs. One keeps sticking in my head so I’m going to share it with you too.

Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillip

When life leaves you high and dry

I’ll be at your door tonight if you need help, if you need help

I’ll shut down the city lights,

I’ll lie, cheat, I’ll beg and bribe to make you well, to make you well

When enemies are at your door I’ll carry you way from more

If you need help, if you need help

Your hope dangling by a string

Ill share in your suffering to make you well, to make you well

Give me reasons to believe,

That you would do the same for me

And I would do it for you, for you

Baby I’m not moving on

I love you long after you’re gone

For you, for you

You would never sleep alone

I love you long after you’re gone

And long after you’re gone, gone, gone

When you fall like a statue

I’m gon’ be there to catch you

Put you on your feet, you on your feet

And if your well is empty

Not a thing will prevent me

Tell me what you need, what do you need

I surrender honestly

You’ve always done the same for me

So I would do it for you, for you

Baby I’m not moving on

I love you long after you’re gone

For you, for you

You would never sleep alone

I love you long after you’re gone

And long after you’re gone, gone, gone

You’re my back bone, you’re me cornerstone

You’re my crutch when my legs stop moving

You’re my headstart, you’re my rugged heart

You’re the pokes that I’ve always needed

Like a drum baby don’t stop beating

Like a drum baby don’t stop beating

Like a drum baby don’t stop beating

Like a drum my heart never stops beating

For you, for you

Baby I’m not moving on

I love you long after you’re gone

For you, for you

You would never sleep alone

I love you long after you’re gone

For you, for you

Baby I’m not moving on

I love you long after you’re gone

For you, for you

You would never sleep alone

I love you long, long after you’re gone

Like a drum baby don’t stop beating

Like a drum baby don’t stop beating

Like a drum baby don’t stop beating

Like a drum my heart never stops beating for you

And long after you’re gone, gone, gone

I love you long after you’re gone gone gone

Okay, it’s a few years old! Still good though.

Yes, I’ve been on YouTube listening to music. Why would I pay Apple $10 a month when YouTube and Pandora are both free? I love my Apple products but sometimes I think they charge too much. I know I have to deal with ads but to save $10 a month I will!

I wore this Apple watch yesterday. It’s pretty good. I don’t like that it doesn’t work with myfitnesspal for tracking food and that I had to get another app called YAZIO that wants me to pay to see dietary stuff daily that myfitnesspal has for FREE. YAZIO also doesn’t have the recipe finder like myfitnesspal so I’ve had to input my recipes BY INGREDIENT. I wish the watch had its own sleep tracker on it instead of having to download it to the phone and turn it on and off nightly. I also don’t like that I was just in the middle of writing this blog and I got a pop up on my phone that said, “There’s a new update for the Apple Watch.” AND??? Can’t I update that later when I’m not in the middle of something??? I will say that I like it better than the Fitbit. It is waterproof so I can shower and swim with this watch on. It is more clear to see on versus the Fitbit which has a digital clock face and tells you the steps/health stuff but that’s it. I like the display better in other words. I also like that I can choose my watch face, I have the one that looks like a watch. I really love the talk to text feature. Why can’t my phone understand me that well? The watch lets me talk and sends what I said immediately and correctly (at least so far).

I still think the first day was a fluke. How did I get 10,000 steps? Yesterday I had to work hard to get those same 10,000 steps (okay, I did get over 11,000 yesterday)! I can’t figure out the difference! What did I do? Shopping? I did work hard and made sure that I got my steps yesterday and also used the stairs more. I’m proud of myself for that.

The watch even gave me an award for doing twice as much as it wanted me too.

So I think this watch is pretty neat and think I will keep going. I have a week to return it if I just end up hating it. I doubt that will happen.

Today I see Forgetful and take the couple to another doctor. They want to go out to dinner tonight too. So my day will be with them and that’s fine. I like them. Today is also my pay day with them from the past few days so woo hoo! I’ll be able to pay another bill! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Guess I better get up and moving this morning. Y’all have a great day and let me know what you think of my one day progress.

  1. I used to use an iPhone for fitness tracking. I’m pretty sure you can get it to MyFitnessPal. Have a look here: http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/1689726-how-do-i-link-myfitnesspal-with-apple-s-healthkit-

As for the music, I’m with you in terms of taste. Good choices! Also, check this out. Not long after we moved to Canada we learned that there were TONS of bands and songs that were really excellent but never crossed the border to our charts. And so, we discovered a bunch of bands that sounded just like things we’d have listened to back in the 80’s by 80’s bands (so they don’t sound off like folks today trying to sound like 80’s bands). They’re pretty awesome. Have a look here for a few – there are lots more… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vubMfPh7URs&list=PL22ECC9480EFBFC51

It seems like you’re doing great, Julie, so many steps you take! Good thing you’re enjoying the watch so far besides the little app hiccups. Hope dinner with the couple went well. ๐Ÿ™‚
