Last day of school

Today is the last day of my sons midterms. Thank goodness! So come to find out, he’s not been taking any medication for 2 weeks. He hasn’t been acting all crazy or rude or angry either plus he’s made B’s on every midterm so far! Maybe he has outgrown his ADHD? He still has Aspergers’s but it’s very light and it doesn’t seem he needs medication for that. It would be wonderful if he doesn’t need it anymore! There’s no way I’m going to tell the doctor yet. It’s only been 2 weeks. I’ll give it 2 more before I see if he needs to go back on something. Let’s hope not!!!

Today I have to take the couple to the grocery store. I know they won’t cancel on me. It’s his favorite outing! He loves to ride around the store and have me chase him around buying everything he may want for the next week plus everything on the list his wife gives him! Then I need to go see Forgetful and see what she says today. Her step daughter in law said yesterday that she can be so rough sometimes. Uh, yeah! Styled just text me to cancel Saturday and when I told her today is Thursday, she replied oh, let’s see how I feel tomorrow. Ok, I think it must be a bad bug if she doesn’t know what day it is or maybe because she lives in a home, she’s not worried about it!

After my 2 jobs, I am picking up my son at school and we are going to the shooting range. We are taking a safety and training class, get to use a simulator, and then do live firing with a 22 or 9mm. I had emailed them about a month ago asking about a safety class for my son to know how to take care of a pistol and what to do and never got an answer so I called them yesterday and they said they can do it today. I’m sure some people reading this will be shocked that I am letting my son do this. Please note, we don’t OWN a gun, I’m not planning on purchasing a gun, this is just to teach him how to take care of himself plus I will be with him the whole time. He has been so interested in guns for about 2 years since he shot a rifle in Cub Scouts. I wanted a safe place where he can learn, I can be with him, and he can have a little fun. We don’t live in the country either. We are in the middle of the 4th largest city in the US. When I was growing up, I would go to the country in the summer and I could shoot tin cans and went deer hunting. My son hasn’t gotten that chance. And yes, we live in Texas and this might make you agree with that old saying that all Texans have and shoot guns. ๐Ÿ˜‚ If you really believe that, come on down! Most of us city folk are just going somewhere. There are a lot that have them but not as many as you’d think. Out of all of my friends here, I think 3 have guns of their own.

Today will hopefully be a good day. I will get my walk in although I don’t know when again. I will though. And don’t forget I’ll get some just from taking the husband to the store! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I ended up having to charge my watch and went up 2 flights of stairs and walked the dog without it so this isn’t accurate (missing about 700 steps and 2 flights of stairs) and was still very good ending for yesterday!

I’m happy with it anyway. Not weighing myself until Monday but I hope I’ve gone down another pound since I’ve been sticking to the exercising!

Have a great day!

  1. Awesome job you! I think it’s great that you’re going to the shooting range. The idea that you are taking the time to educate him does 2 things, first, it’s very informative so he knows what to do around a weapon, 2nd it shows you want to be heavily involved in what your child likes! Those are very important. I don’t own a gun myself but I certainly know how to use one and encourage you to continue the great work being a great parent! And awesome with the activity, watch or no watch you are getting it done!

    1. Thank you! I was nervous about posting that because I know there are people that will be totally shocked that I would allow my 12 year old in a gun range. I think itโ€™s important to know what your doing and how to be safe at it!
My son and I are a team. I guess itโ€™s because itโ€™s always just been me and him. His father comes by when he feels like it and thatโ€™s not much. My son has always been open with me and tells me everything, and yes, Iโ€™m sure that may change in the years to come! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. I went to school with a kid who so hyperactive in 7th & 8th grade but he grew out of it by high school & was able to stop taking his pills. I hope the same happens for your son! ๐Ÿ’—
I’ve never shot a gun–I’d love to go to one of those safety & shooting classes! I think it’s great that you’re bringing him!!
I heard if you weigh yourself the more you gain weight! I haven’t owned a scale for 2 years, I have no idea how much I weigh & I don’t care!
