Something isn’t right

I guess I am having this keto flu thing or something. I am so tired! I have to be up to get my son to school but all I want to do is go back to sleep. I’m also gaining weight. I have gained 2.4 pounds in 3 days. I was under 200 dammit! Why? And for my health, I have to keep going on this. Let me share my macros for anyone that may be able to catch why I am gaining.

Day one:

Today is day 3. I’m not hungry, I’m drinking tons of water, I’m stressed now. And how do I know if I’m in ketosis? I’m not ordering test strips (I’ve heard their accuracy is not always correct) and I’m not spending money on other stuff either when I have plenty here.

So you can see above, less than 20 carbs, fat higher than protein. I’m just getting frustrated. I read on a forum that I’m not the only one and I need to give it more time. Since I’m under doctors orders, I don’t have a choice but to do that although I really want a soda. Really. And I won’t have one.

I’m seriously too tired to even type. Have a good day.

  1. Gaining weight is not always fat!
    It can be fluids, it can be the monthly stuff coming up, it can be muscle.
    Don’t worry about that one (I know, easier said than done).

    If a diet like this is taking too much energy of you, eat a piece of fruit or so!

  2. I hope you feel better soon. My best friend went on the jets diet and she gained weight, but lost inches. So that may be what’s going on? She didn’t start losing actual wait til day 3. So press on, it may get better:)

  3. O.k just relax and remember your body is trying to adjust do what you are doing. The fact that you are drastically changing your diet with come with a few waves. make absolutely sure you are getting enough sodium and potassium these are really important and if you don’t get enough your body will When you change your body from burning carbs as it’s main source to burning fat there is leftover waste and that is what’s responsible for a little weight gain but I promise you that if you have the proper electros and stuff you will feel better. Also, keep in mind you are not drinking the same amount of soda and that is going to hit you hard but you will be o.k because you are strong and brave and have overcome so much more and you will kick this in the ass like you do everything else. Do a google search for electrolytes and sodium and potassium while doing Keto and that is a good start. And just for the record unless a doctor tells you no one can honestly tell you that you are in Ketosis! You can use test strips or meters and stuff but they only measure the ketones in your body and at any given time we all can have some ketos in our body just give it time and you will be able to feel ketosis and you won’t need a test.

      1. That’s normal and be careful just because you are Keto doesn’t mean you will lose weight you have to be just as focused as you were before it’s just a new route! You can do anything and you know it!
