Resting day

I didn’t mean to have a resting day but I felt horrible so I did. When I wrote at 6am yesterday, that was pretty much it for my activity for the day. I came home from taking my son to school and went back to sleep. I woke up at 11:50am, ate 2 ounces of cheese and ate some Vienna sausages, and watched a little Netflix before passing out again at 1pm. I woke up again at 4pm, ate peanut butter, drank some almond milk (not the best milk straight out of the carton but oh well), and had a serving of halo top ice cream (low everything – you really should try it), watched a little more Netflix, and went back to bed at 10pm.

Oliver didn’t want me to watch Netflix, he wanted attention and enjoyed playing with my headphones.

I was supposed to take Mr. 95 year old to dinner but cancelled since I never got out of bed. It might be a good thing. And who knows, he may have wanted to cancel on me too. He has been a lot lately.

How am I feeling today? I think having the carbs yesterday helped. I definitely went above 20 total carbs but I feel better today. Total carbs is carbohydrates minus fiber. So I actually had 30 carbs but had 9 grams of fiber in the foods so my total was only 21 which is only one over what they want me to have. Since I was sleeping most of the day, I did not have any caffeine either. So yes, I had a headache. Advil actually helped this time though! I don’t think I had enough fat though. I had 65 grams and my goal is 135. Protein I had 48 grams. My sugar was up today but it doesn’t surprise me having ice cream and milk. I’m not worried about it. I did drink 5 bottles of water. Whenever I was awake, I was downing my water.

I have the doctor appointment at 8:30 this morning (I will tell them about yesterday and see what they say) and then I have to take the couples car to be inspected and run a couple of errands for them. I called last night and checked on his illness. He said he is still having trouble breathing so he’s going back to the doctor today. I hope they don’t put him in the hospital. That would not make him happy. We shall find out!

Obviously I did not exercise yesterday. I didn’t get anywhere near my goals for the day. That’s what happens when you’re sick I guess. Was I sick or just needing carbs or what? Who knows!

So I definitely need to do more today. I’m not going to stress if I don’t. I think I’m going to go get coffee this morning and see if that helps me move more.

I went downstairs this morning and Eliza decided she wanted to sit on me.

  1. It looks like we have around the same number of followers! I plan on doing a giveaway too! Not at 1,000 but when I have it scheduled (I am an obsessive planner) which isn’t until around August or September near my birthday. It’s those unexpected rest days that are sometimes the most necessary!!! I hope you have an awesome day today!!

  2. Hello. How is everything going? I enjoyed reading your blog today. I am hoping that I can have a day like that. Sleep. I am one of those sleep at 1am then get up at 4am. Last night I was up at 2:30am. I do look forward to reading more of your posts.

    I had a cat named Oliver! He was a good one!

    Sometimes you need to give in, but not consider it giving in. Rest, for another day. I rest if I know I have Father/Son plans coming up etc…

    I wrote a blog about my yesterday. Yesterday was a bad day for me.
    It may shed an outlook that some miss.

    1. That’s got to be tough! I rested yesterday but today I have a lot to do, including getting my sons school lunch stuff which where I’m off to now.
      I’m sorry you are going through so much. I’m glad you have a good partner and what sounds like the cutest little boy!

    My 14 year old – I was on my own with him when he was 4 months old too. It’s a shock to go it alone and I was terrified but you get used to it and then like you were saying about the job – I don’t think I could go back to having to share my home again.

    the weight gain tiredness – have you checked thyroid issues? And depending upon your age, could it be peri-menopause? I started at 40, and many women start even earlier.

    came here to thank you for the bateman movie tip, I love jason bateman and have added that to my list! Netflix should start letting you friend people like fb does, or does it do that already? Wouldn’t it be nice to recommend things back and forth? I know other people have a thousand different streaming platforms now, but I stick to Netflix and if there’s something I can’t find, I buy it or rent it on my Amazon account.

      Oh, it’s the new diet my doctor put me on. My body has to get used to it.

  5. Great post! Hey, do some research on net carbs because it’s a little strange but it’s something that trips people up doing keto. Just make sure you let the results be your answer whatever works ya know?
