Exercise and Netflix day

Oh man. I had a tough morning and a relaxing afternoon/evening.

After dropping my son off at school, I drove to school. I had to meet with financial aid to find out what’s going on. This woman was so very short with me, I left very upset. I am out of federal financial aid available for an undergrad degree and can only get more if I change and go for my masters. I met with my advisor and she suggested I meet with a masters degree advisor so I went. This twig of a woman made me feel like an imbecile. Since my GPA is 2.77 and my BS degree is in psychology, I do not qualify for the nutrition masters program unless I finish my undergrad degree first. She seemed like she was trying to not roll her eyes at me while I was talking to her. I was ready to cry when I walked out. I didn’t so I’m proud of myself but this may be my last semester of going back to school which is very upsetting. I had a plan and I guess the world doesn’t want me to.

I was so upset after the first appointment with financial aid that I drove to the Mexican bakery and got my son a couple of things he likes and donut for me.

After my advisor appointment, I called my friend at UH H. She is back from home for the semester so I picked her up and we went to the park to walk. She is shorter than me and is not as in shape as I am but I walked at her pace so my watch didn’t give me the credit for exercising but I did it. I have almost walked 13,000 steps today too!

We then came back to my house and I made some food for us. She went through my moms Christmas stuff and packed a box, we ate, then I took her back home. She forgot her headphones so we chatted while we walked which was nice. It was nice to hang out with her again! I introduced her to Diet Rite and she liked it too!

When I picked up the boys at school, I told my son I didn’t feel like driving all the way out to this swim meet he wanted to go to (a 45 minute drive away) and he said that was fine with him because he could be lazy. So I didn’t have to get in the car again and drive out there twice (once to take him and once picking him up when it was over).

I hit another non smoking goal today.

I watched a couple hours of this show on Netflix called Fit for Fashion. It’s crazy but interesting. I am going to go back to this Korean cooking show next because it’s funny and everything made so far looks amazing. Authoress51, thanks for telling me about it!

I hope you had a good hump day!

  1. Sometimes you are allowed to take masters courses in your field and if you do well, then you are accepted into the program for graduate school without any stipulations, only that you continue to do well. You might want to check this out. Or if you have experience in the field, they will look past a lower GRE score or GPA.

      1. ha, I understand. Maybe there is a certificate program online you can research but I understand getting the funding is challenging and as a grad student, sometimes the only option is a loan or to work in the Dept. if you are lucky.
