So tired yet again

It has been a crazy couple of days!

Monday – 4 hours of errands with Miss Priss. I came home, got out the Christmas tree (the cats seem to love the bag we keep it in) and met with my moms friend to put the lights on our Christmas tree.

Picked up my son and his friend at school and then home to just talk to Cranky’s son and bake gingerbread men cookies. Recipe is from AllRecipes and it turned out great! So great that when I had a couple of broken men, I had to eat them to put them out of their misery. I ate 3 of them. πŸ˜‚

Today – oh man what a day! I left the house at 8am to go to the hospital. I sat in traffic and finally got to the medical center at 9, drove around the garage for 15 minutes looking for parking, then had to go find Cranky’s room. I stayed there and got to speak to the doctor. She has bacterial pneumonia.

Her son flew down to check on her so when he arrived at the hospital, I took his caregiver to go get her car from her dealership where she was having it fixed. I got home at 2pm and left soon after to pick my son up at school. Then Cranky’s son called to ask me to pick up her prescriptions from the hospital because they were sending her home. So I left again as soon as I dropped off my child, took care of that, and came back home at 5pm.

The caregiver called and said that Cranky is bringing home oxygen and would I meet her there to help her get everything upstairs. So I went back to Cranky’s, got her wheelchair, and went down to wait on them. One of Cranky’s church friends showed up while I was waiting. I didn’t know somebody else was coming! When the caregiver got there, we unpacked everything and went upstairs to her place. The valet guys helped immensely too! I didn’t realize how much they sent her home with. So much stuff.

Cranky’s church friend then went and got us all dinner from Luby’s cafeteria. Cranky got chicken, the caregiver got liver and onions, and I got my favorite fried fish. While we were waiting for her to come back, a guy showed up to deliver an oxygen machine. He got her all set up, I signed my life away for it (sarcasm is awesome), and Cranky’s son and I text back and forth about a hospital bed rental. I will call around in the morning and see if I can get one delivered there tomorrow. We are afraid she will try to get up in the middle of the night and fall so this will help. Her legs are very weak and she can’t stand for long. She is going to complain like crazy if we take her bed away from her. I am not looking forward to this!

I honestly hope all of this equipment is not permanent. I really do love Cranky like a second mother (helps that I’ve known her over 30 years). I hate that she needs all this and is so confused. She said she is going to kill her son for moving her stuff again (she moved into her apartment a year and a half ago though). She wouldn’t listen to me about that. She said she carpooled me to school which is how she knows me. She usually calls me her neighbor. Her son said to just say she’s my aunt. He’s probably right, that’s easier. Maybe she can remember that too.

I am finally home at 9pm and tired!!! I’m about to go to bed. I’m sure I will need to go back over there tomorrow and give her caregiver a break after spending 2 full days with Cranky being sick and having to sleep in the hospital. I haven’t even started studying for my math final yet and it’s in 5 days!!! Eek!!!

So tired

It’s only 9pm but I am ready for bed.

My son and I picked up H at 8:15 and went off to my sons dentist. The dentist said he is healing but needs to brush and floss better. He also has to use this MI Paste for the entire time he wears braces. Poor kid.

We then went to the Mexican Bakery. So good! They had emoji cookies so my son got a lot of them. They are usually out so he was a bit overexcited.

We took H back to her dorm and headed home. My moms maid/my friend was here cleaning. I gave her her baby gift (she’s due in February). She loved the UH bib and baby shirt.

She also had her daughter with her because they were going to the doctor when they left my house so I gave her daughter a hello kitty emoji cookie. A couple hours later, my son and I took off to check out Bellaire High School.

I would love to say I took this but it was raining and yucky here so I got a stock photo off google. I was NOT impressed with the school. I had a lot of friends that went to this high school and thought it would be great. I was wrong. They are building a new school next to the original one and are staying there in the old building while it’s being built. If my son went there, he would have to be there through all the construction for the next 2 years. No thanks! My son is asthmatic and does not need to be around construction. There were also kids sitting outside school that did not look like the best kids. So yeah, I wasn’t happy.

We came back home and I changed the schools he is applying to. So we didn’t have to go take the language aptitude test which I also found out is not any particular language, it’s just a test to see if he can tell languages so I thought that was weird. I asked how they were preventing another flooding like they had with Harvey and the lady just said they had to. Is that actually an answer? I watched a bit of Netflix and am now going to bed. Have a wonderful night or morning.

Friday fun day!!!

Yes, I took Styled this morning to get her hair and nails done. While she got hers done, I decided to paint mine to match my costume.

I then went to the grocery and got some Halloween cookies for anybody that comes over in the next week.

Then I started to dye my hair. I want my blonde again so here we go! I’m in the middle of the last picture. Y’all have to wait to get the final product. πŸ˜‚

H is coming over to do my makeup and help me get dressed in my costume that my friend S altered for me. I went to Kohl’s and bought a clear strapped bra so it will look good too (no bra strap showing, yay!).

Then we are going to pick up my son at school and his friend and go to the elementary school carnival. He actually asked if he could go so of course I said yes. I think it will be fun, and being dressed up will be a blast too!

The Fat Snax company

The owner Jeff and his next in line, Brian, are totally awesome. I love these cookies. They are great on my keto plan and are very tasty and so soft!

About a month ago, I ordered a variety pack from them. I received them and they were all great other than one package that got moldy.

I emailed them and Brian emailed me back that they were sending a replacement variety pack of cookies because they were not going to sell the ginger cookies anymore due to people not wanting them and the issue I had, quite a few others had the same problem.

Well, today, I got my new pack of cookies. 1. There were 4 peanut butter ones and 4 ginger turmeric ones. Huh??? Check out the box as the USPS guy shoved it into a tiny mailbox instead of taking the time to put it at my door.

So I opened the box and saw what they had sent and the condition they were in.

I was really pissed off! I emailed Brian back and I am sharing my email and his reply.

Now tell me. Is this company AWESOME or what? It may take another 2 weeks to get the new box but it’s free and hopefully this one will actually be a variety pack of chocolate chip, peanut butter, and lemon cookies, 24 in all. I’m sure it will since he is doing this again!

I can NOT say they will get here well since USPS seems to not give a crap about how they deliver things. I got the notification that it had been delivered and it wasn’t in my box. I actually had to stop the mail guy and he had put them into someone else’s mailbox! So he pulled them out and hands the messed up package to me. Geez!

I just wanted to tell you guys that if you are looking for a company that stands behind their products, this one definitely fits. Plus the cookies are keto friendly!!!

So glad it’s the weekend!

So guys, I have to tell you a secret. I started a 2nd job. I am driving for an internet based company like Uber (but NOT Uber). After taking Styled yesterday morning, I came home, walked Amber, ate, and started my new job. I ended up working for 4 hours, had NO clue where I was for 3 jobs so thank GOD for GPS, and kept taking jobs until I was somewhere I knew. The sad part was I didn’t even make $10 per hour. I know, it’s more than minimum wage, but if you look at what it puts my car through, I still have to see if this is worth it. So I worked 7 total hours today. I did 7 runs with the driving company in 4 hours. This company is not too busy and that’s actually good for me. They have a bonus program right now that if you do 150 jobs in 45 days through them, you will get a $500 bonus. Message me if you want a link! I hope it’s possible.

I came home and got in bed but only for about 30 minutes. Then I got up to go walk (gotta get my exercise in – especially after sitting in my car most of the day!). I ended up doing 45 minutes on the treadmill and felt MUCH better when I was done.

I went out last night and got wings from WingStop and boy were they good! So good I forgot to take a picture! The thing I am happy about is that all 3 generations of people in this house sat down and ate in the same area. My mom and I split the wings while my son had French fries (he refused the wings). I’m not a big sauce person so I let my mom eat the bleu cheese dressing with the wings. I was happy with mine just like they were.

Today is weigh day!!! You are SO not going to believe this. I don’t! I had to move and re-step on the scale a few times to make sure it was actually real! This keto lifestyle is definitely doing the trick. I had a compliment from one of the neighbors. He told me that he can see I’ve lost “quite a bit” and I’ll soon be as thin as he is. He’s this tall, thin, handsome Frenchman that moves to the states about 4 years ago and lived in California until last year when he came here. He has a chiweenie like I do so he and I chat at least once a week while our girls run around and play together.

Yes, I know, I got off track! You want to know the weight, right? Well… 195.2! That is a LOSS of 4.8 pounds! Woot woot!

Today is psychologist day, gym weights day, and cooking day. I’m making fajitas (beef and chicken) as well as baked chicken and Italian sausages. I need more choices! I am okay about not having too many sweet things (if I get desperate, I found a keto peanut butter cookie to make or just fat bombs).

Saturday and goals πŸ˜€

What a good day! First I want to talk to you guys about my goals and I hope you will share yours in the comments.

Weight goals: I have mini goals. For March, I wanted to lose 5 pounds. I’ve lost 1.4 and it’s halfway through the month. That’s still about 1/2 a pound a week so I’m okay with that. Will I get to my goal? I don’t know! Is it okay if I don’t hit that goal? Definitely! At the end of November 2017, I weighed 221.8. Yesterday on my weekly weigh day, I was 206. You will NOT hear me complain. I have come too far to quit. By my birthday, I want to weigh in the 100’s. I don’t care if I am at 199, as long as I am there by the end of June (my birthday is on the 27th). That’s still 3 months away and that would only be a loss of 2 pounds per month. I should crush that goal!

Another goal is measurements. I want to be in a size large instead of extra large soon. I will have to lose enough inches to do that. 10 maybe? It’s definitely doable. I mean come on! In November I was wearing a 2X shirt and after 4 months, I’m in a 1X! So I know I can do this. How many do I actually need to lose? I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. I will know how I’m doing when I can put on a large and it fits like the extra large does now, comfortable and not tight at all.

Another goal is food. This is my hardest goal. I need to drink and eat less sugar. That’s number one and I am going to work on that in April. I have (for the most part – there are days like yesterday when I felt like I needed the boost) already cut back to one energy drink a day and only have 16 left in the fridge that will be gone by the beginning of April. I am also drinking a TON more water during the day (8 today) and then having one more soda at dinner so I have cut WAY back (6 to 2 in the past 4 months). And desserts, cookies, pie, cake, etc that taste OH SO GOOD I need to cut back on as well. I say cut back because there will always be times when you go to a party and eat cake or bake cookies for an event and eat a few. I make things myself so they aren’t as bad as eating desserts out at restaurants but all that sugar is still not good! If my weekly cheat meal is a package of cookies, that is enough sugar for the whole month, not a meal!

For March, my goal was to eat more food and drink less calories. I believe I have accomplished that 16 out of 30 days (so far). Next month, I will be focusing on eating less sugar as well as drinking less.

It’s all about the tiny goals y’all. Small changes add up to big results!

Oh man yesterday was good. I woke up early and lounged around for about 3 hours after weighing myself and doing my best not to get down about the tiny weight gain. Then I got dressed, took the dog out for a walk, and then took my son to therapy. Then the gym. I’ve been at home doing Zumba for a couple of days and that’s great but I wanted to get back in the gym. Since my doctor took my insoles to be changed for the ever changing foot issues, I was worried about my feet hurting (no insoles equals flat feet while working out). That’s why I’ve been doing stuff at home. On carpet I don’t feel like I will hurt my feet nearly as bad as on machines at the gym.

So I did 30 minutes on the treadmill walking and running. Those little spikes are me running at 5mph which I am VERY proud of! I ran 8 out of 30 minutes today!!! I’ll be ready to run a 5K by summertime and that excites me. I also went into the steam room (NOT a sauna). It was too much after 30 seconds so I had to leave. I had already had 6 cups of water when I went to the gym and 2 more while working out and I was sweating for 30 minutes AFTER my workout! Yes, my feet and hips hurt a little when I left, that’s why I didn’t stay and do any other exercises.

Then I went home and watched the rest of 7 seconds. Then I watched Amanda and Jack go Glamping which was kind of stupid but after that heartbreaking show, I needed something stupid.

I decided to eat cereal for dinner. It went down way too fast and easy. That’s one of the reasons that I am stopping all this sugar. It goes down so easy and then you are hungry again in an hour or 2. That’s okay. I didn’t eat anything else, I went to bed around 1am. I took some Advil for my hip and watched movies on Netflix. I watched People Like Us and also The Gift. I loved People Like Us. It was totally different than most things out these days. Again, I LOVE Jason Bateman so The Gift was good to me. It’s a psychological thriller and I love that genre! It was either watch movies or go to the bar for beers and I didn’t want to do that.

Everyone have a great Sunday. I will be going to the gym today. Sticking to the bike though. I can’t afford to get hurt or sick again!

Off today!

I should work because all I made this past week was $270 but I’m taking my day off to not deal with dementia and crankiness. I already know I’m slow in December so I plan for it. So yay for taking a day off!

Yesterday was great for exercise. I think I did really well!

In addition to my exercise which included walking to the grocery store and back, I baked more cookies. I made the PB Blossoms THE RIGHT WAY, and made these Christmas Wreath cookies. A few actually looked like wreaths, a few looked more like Christmas Trees, and the rest were just blobs. I refrigerated them overnight and tried one this morning. They taste pretty good, like Rice Krispie treats only made with cornflakes. Excuse my blurry selfie, hard to eat a cookie and take a picture!

This morning I was woken up by banging right outside my bedroom door. It was either my Mom or the cats. I don’t know which. I wasn’t about to open my door and have a conversation at 8am on a Sunday! I didn’t go to sleep until 1. I was still making cookies until midnight! I swear my mother doesn’t like to let me sleep in. And when she was gone for the one day, I had to wake up and take my son to school. I know, poor me, I had to wake up on time. πŸ˜‚

Oh! The washer issue! Get this crap. My mom opened the washer to do laundry and it was FULL of water from that drip! I used a water bottle and got about half of it out before I was like, you know what? Why don’t we just turn on the spin cycle to drain it all? Now why didn’t I think of that in the first damn place??? So after running all the water out, my mom started her clothes and let the washer finish it’s cycle completely. Then I ran my clothes. Then my son ran his clothes. And guess what??? Because we let the washer complete the cycle each time, it’s not leaking anymore!!! Go figure! Well thankfully that saves us a plumber bill too.

This morning after being woken up, I took my new vitamin that I bought yesterday. I’m kind of hoping that it’s what I needed. I have not ever taken vitamins regularly. I’m really not good at taking pills and these are damn horse pills but I’m trying! It says to take 2 each day so I’m debating that. Can’t I just take one? I got them at the local GNC store and they were recommended by the sales guy. He said they constantly run out of them so they must be popular, right? Hmmm… I’m not too sure but he said these were easier to take than the other ones they had and these are time released vitamins so it helps you throughout the day. He said to take them for a week before I give up to see how I feel. At $60 for a months worth, these better be the best damn vitamins I’ve ever taken!

I packaged up all the cookies this morning, took the dog out on a 1,500 step walk, and did all the dishes from my cooking. Now I’m back in bed to write. I must move around a lot in my sleep. My butt doesn’t hurt anymore, now it’s my knee! This is why I bought vitamins. Something has to help! I also stopped using my sleep thing on my fitness watch because it drains the battery and doesn’t actually help me any. The Fitbit had a much better sleep minder. I also am bad about remembering to turn it off in the morning so I have a few days where I was sleeping for 24 hours. The Apple Watch isn’t BAD necessarily, I guess I’m just used to the Fitbit one.

So it’s 10am. All I’m doing today is my exercise and watching Netflix, well, that’s my plan. I am noticing that I have tons more energy lately and don’t stay in bed as much as I used to. I may run up to Michael’s to get the melting chocolate and make these chocolate and nut dipped meringues. The meringue is already made (I cheated and bought some) and so now I just need the chocolate and nuts.

My son is still asleep and my dog pooped 4 times and has now eaten so I’m sure she is about to take a nap. I just need to figure out what I want to do! Have a great Sunday!
