Keto day

I had a keto day today.

I have had 19 carbs today. I’m not hungry either. Woo hoo! Yes, I still have dinner left but I will be having more brisket. I made it so I will eat it.

Here’s the key for staying away from keto flu. DRINK YOUR WATER! It will keep you from feeling sick on day 3 to 5. Now if you don’t drink water, yes, you may feel like crap. And if you do, it will pass, I promise. You’re not really sick, it just feels like it.

I have a doctors appointment next Tuesday so I really need to drop these 5 pounds I’ve gained. I don’t want a lecture about “well, you’ve gained a few pounds, you may want to watch that.” So I am totally watching everything that goes in my mouth for a week so I will keep this up and I really do like keto and should keep doing it because it’s a lot healthier for me and my neuropathy.

So this is the plan for at least the next week. I had kind of went off and was eating a TON of sugar. That’s what made me gain. Keto is no sugar so this is good!!!

Oh man what a long day!!!

Let me tell you. I am just now having dinner 12 hours after my day began. Thank goodness I had packed Atkins bars in my purse for lunch!

I started this morning by waking up at 5am. I didn’t actually get moving until 6 (it takes me a while to get going).

Once I was up, I showered and washed my hair. I then went downstairs to walk my dog. Thankfully I had time to brown my ground beef and I had chopped up my veggies last night because I threw everything in my slow cooker right before heading out the door at 7:15am to go to school.

My professor had us doing homework AGAIN during class and watching a couple of YouTube videos. OMG going to this class is so pointless on most days! I left class early (at 8:40) and came home to walk both dogs before heading out to work.

I started my job today! I was there 5 minutes early but she didn’t teach me how to clock in until exactly 10am. Okay. I got a 15 minute break around 1pm and was able to leave at 3:04pm. It seems like an easy job but I have to work on confronting people that have balances on their account when they sign in. I am so not good at confrontation! Plus I am slow obviously and I know that just takes time to get faster at getting people checked in.

When I got home and walked into our carport area, I noticed this huge leak on the ground.

Since my mom parks there, I called her. She tells me, “No wonder it was smoking when I stopped.” OMG… And she just went on to work??? So after walking the dogs again (it had been 5 hours), I drive over to her job and took her vehicle to the mechanic where she just got her oil changed last week. They showed me this horrible mess of an antifreeze hose. I can’t say they rigged it but I have a feeling. So for over $400, they are ordering her a new hose and will install it tomorrow. The hose for her vehicle is a 3-in-one thing that’s all connected so you have to replace them all. It’s stupid and makes me not like this place. We aren’t going there any more either. I’m sure nobody reading this blames me either!

I got a ride with one of the mechanics back to her work to get my car back and it reeked of marijuana. I played it off by saying his car smelled good and they should legalize it here (I really do think that) but I didn’t really need to be put in that. I should have just walked back to her work (only about half a mile).

Since my mom doesn’t have a car, I had to go pick her up at work at 7 when she got off. Since my child was at karate, I walked both dogs at once before I left. That was probably a funny site! Lucky in front of me pulling on me and Amber behind me trying to keep up. When we got back to the house and before I left, we all sat on or near the couch for some cuddles.

When Lucky got into the window after Amber basically yelled at him for trying to be on the couch with us, Eliza had a surprised look on her face like, “Hey! That’s MY spot!”

As for exercise, I haven’t been. I finished up the plank challenge yesterday and am SO glad that’s over and done with! It’s 8pm here and I went over all of my Apple Watch goals today. I guess working at a gym pays off. LOL

Just finished eating (picture is missing half the bread) and need to get ready for tomorrow. I work 8 hours including a staff meeting!!!

Just keeping it keto

2 days down. I have been craving sugar like crazy! SO, Atkins treats are a lifesaver!!!

I am doing something today I never do. I am sharing my food for the day. I do keto my own way, it works for me. I did not exercise, I have to get my food under control first. I ate 1560 calories today, that’s 100 calories over my goal according to MyFitnessPal. I had a total of 21 carbs which is almost perfect.

I had a client today. I took her to a doctor appointment and then we ran some errands. After I got her home, I came home and did all of the paperwork for my new job. She put my start date as Monday (I’m not complaining). I go tomorrow and start training. Yay!!!

I took this at the new job. I am so happy to be working a regular job again. I get a free gym membership with the job and I make more than minimum wage so I am NOT complaining and I am very excited!

Check out Oliver. Crazy cat! He was under me while I did my plank challenge for today. It was 3 minutes long! Plus I forgot yesterday so I had to do a 2:45 plank this morning as well! I did it though. 😀

Maybe someone can give me an idea. I have a paper to write this weekend (2 page single spaced). It has to be over a macronutrient disease. It can’t be kwashiorkor or marasmus or diabetes. One of my friends suggested maple syrup disease but I can’t find much on it for the paper (she wants peer reviewed articles). So any suggestions???

Saturday morning

Good morning everyone! I have been busy exercising and doing school work, finishing Friends (I cried at the last episode), and taking care of business. I did keto 2 full days this past week and got back into doing exercise so I went from 153.8 last Saturday to 150.6 this morning. I know it’s mostly water weight but I’m still excited!

This week in exercise:

I know it’s cut off but I was just showing you that I am doing it every day again and so happy that I am! I feel better when I exercise daily. I proved that to myself this week.

Yesterday one of my best friends told me that Five Below has exercise equipment so I found a store and went to check it out. I got a yoga mat (finally – I’ve been needing one so I’m not doing yoga on my carpet), an exercise ball, as well as boxing gloves and 10 pound dumbbells. My son was even happy and promised that he is going to use the boxing gloves and get back into hitting his punching bag.

My week in calories:

Last Saturday: 750 calories over (this is what made me start up again – too much Jules!!!)

Sunday: 20 calories remaining ( just watched what I ate)

Monday: 400 calories remaining (Full keto day and I wasn’t hungry most of the day)

Tuesday: 250 calories remaining (another full keto day so wasn’t too hungry)

Wednesday: overate by 700 calories according to what myfitnesspal wants me to eat (I went overboard with candy because it was in my room and now it’s gone thanks to my son and his friend eating it all)

Thursday: 180 calories remaining (half keto day, I ate 55 carbs)

Friday: 600 calories over what myfitnesspal wants me to eat (I ate all the carbs yesterday and it showed me how much more hungry I get eating carbs!)

After this I still lost this week because I got in my exercise and I drank tons of water. I started drinking at least 4 – 16.9 bottles of water a day. Myfitnesspal says I should be eating 1430 calories per day which I think is low so I am not going to follow calories this week, just keto, and I will let you know next week how that turns out.

We are going on vacation one week from today so I want to be down a few extra pounds so I don’t feel guilty eating whatever I want while I’m gone. I will also get back on track when I get home!

I joined a plank challenge and want you guys to think about doing it too. It starts easy and I am a day late joining but planks aren’t bad (or is that because I do yoga anyway?).

Very productive day here

I took my son to school this morning, got petrol for Rose (the car), came home and told my mother goodbye, moved my car into her spot, and got to cooking. I made cheese crackers and ate 10 of them in the 2 hours I was cooking them.

I talked to BFF the entire time too. She wasn’t tired (she works at night), so we chatted a long time!

I then went through all of my mothers Christmas stuff, all 15 boxes of it! I started texting my friends to please come look through it and take whatever they want. 15 boxes??? Too much!

I decorated the tree. It seems dark at the top because of my mothers bow.

I then decorated the rest of the house. I put up our very old nativity scene, hung a Ho Ho Ho banner, put my wreath on the back door and a banner on the front. I also pulled out the Santa and Mrs. Claus things that were my grandmothers as well as a white tree that my grandmother always had at her house. I just found out today it has my mothers initials in it too. Did she make it? I don’t know!

Then I decided to go ahead and bake the keto bread I had promised to BFF and to my fellow blogger Authoress51. It turned out looking good, I just hope they think it tastes good!

It’s now 5:30pm and I am done for the day! Tomorrow I should be receiving the cookie mix I ordered and I will be baking cookies and putting them into this cookie tin I found in my mothers Christmas stuff. It’s huge!
