Wow

I haven’t had a day to myself in SO long!!!

I dropped my son off for fish camp this morning and I’m off work as well. So I have alone time, no kid, and no work. What a great day!!! I am watching Aquaman on HBO and thought I would drop you guys a note saying hello.

I am still at the weight of 150, I am doing so well. Lucky graduated from Advanced training last weekend and I’m planning a 2nd birthday party for him next month.

Lucky and Amber seem to really get along and even play with each other!

My coworker invited me to her 25th birthday celebration and we had fun.

I got a new vape and I am enjoying trying out new flavors with a monthly subscription box called Zamplebox. I haven’t had a cigarette in 7 and a half months and I’m so excited about that!

I work at the gym about 30 hours a week and with clients about 10 hours a week. I feel good although tired a lot even when I’m able to get 7-8 hours of sleep. I haven’t been dieting, just sticking to my daily calories to keep from gaining weight back. It works for me!

I hope y’all had a good summer. My son starts school on Monday and will be a freshman in high school (note the fish camp). I can’t believe my little baby is in high school. I will turn 50 years old when he graduates in 4 years. So I guess life really does start at 50!

I was not able to afford classes this semester but that’s okay. I’ll go back in the spring and take my 2nd Anatomy class.

What a day!

Here in the US, today is a holiday. It’s Martin Luther King JR day where we celebrate this man for his determination to end racial segregation.

My day however was not quite celebratory!

Started the day taking my son to the mall to meet his friends. His friends were late so we got breakfast at McDonald’s and waited for 40 minutes! I said hello to another parent and left the kids to wander around like they do.

I went to NYX and got a few more eyeshadow colors. I had the woman working there do my eyes too. She made them look good! I tried the darker lipstick again today but I really don’t like it. I’m going back to red tomorrow.

I then went to VSPink and got a pair of yoga pants because I had forgotten to do laundry yesterday (I started it when we left for the mall) and only had yoga shorts, in this weather!

I ran back home to throw the clothes in the dryer and take off for a job.

I picked up Cranky and her caregiver and we went to Cranky’s shrink for her dementia. We had a good visit with her, started to drive back from the medical center, and decided to get fried chicken from Popeyes. I don’t have a problem with that! I talked to the caregiver on our ride and found out some personal news about her that she asked me not to tell anyone until she can let our boss know – so sorry I can’t put it on here (he may read this, who knows) but it is exciting for her and NOT going to be good for Cranky! I got them back home after 3 hours and drove home.

I started reading my Anatomy book and first PowerPoint on Chapter One. I had barely finished reading over everything when a parent text me to let me know that the movie the kids were at would be over at 8pm. I chatted with BFF over FaceTime for a while and got to see and say hi to her boys which is always nice. I drove to the theatre right before 8 (another parent took them from the mall to the theatre while I was working). I also took Amber with me so I could walk her while I waited on my son. I talked to another kid’s parent while waiting for the movie to end and she is going to send me recipes for her Lebanese food. I can’t wait! Yum yum!!! She loved on Amber until her daughter text to say they were coming out, then the kids came out of the theatre, so I walked back to my car. Another girls parent hadn’t come so we gave her a ride home.

When we got home I made chili for dinner and chatted with Arizona about Math for a while before I started working on my Anatomy lab homework.

I didn’t quite finish (one page left) but I did 5 pages so I feel good about that. Tomorrow I have to do Math. I have 2 homework assignments due on Thursday! I also have a job and H asked me to go with her to take pictures for one of her homework assignments so it will be another busy day.

No time for exercise today but I stayed below my calorie goal so I am okay with that. It’s a few minutes past midnight now so I have to go to sleep so I can wake up to take my son to school and then come back and start on my own schoolwork!

Been busy

I drove for Lyft 6 hours yesterday and 5 hours today. This is why I don’t bother hanging out at the airport with them. Ms. Forgets and I finally went to see the movie today. She was very confused by it and has decided she doesn’t like new movies. I told her we will go to the theatre that shows the old movies next time.

I took a guy to the airport today and he slept the whole way there! I drove a few people that were on their phone the entire ride. I got tipped by 4 people out of 13. Whatever. I got a bill in the mail for the blood work I got done in May for $290. I already had paid $240 and was told that I shouldn’t be billed anything else so I was pissed to see this in the mail! That’s why I am trying to drive for Lyft more and even signed up for Shipt and Instacart for when I don’t feel like dealing with people in my car.

I had WAY too many carbs yesterday forgetting that I was going to have popcorn at the movies today. So today I felt yucky only because eating carbs now makes me bloated and gassy. Feel sorry for my riders yet? 😂 I promise I didn’t stink anyone out of the car.

I decided to have some popcorn today anyway. I got a Small with butter and OMG it was SO good! Equalizer 2 was pretty good and action packed. It can be confusing if you are not paying attention to every word. So my total carbs today is under 50. Tomorrow it will be under 20. I am back on track.

I watched the new season of Orange is the New Black on Netflix over the past couple of days and it was very good. Now I am finally watching DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. I just started it so no real opinion although I’m happy to see characters from Flash and Supergirl on it!

That’s all that’s going on here. I am starting August right by getting some exercise tonight and be back on track with that too. I’m ready to get these last 15 pounds gone!

Busy Friday!

This is going to be a long but probably good day.

I woke up at 6:30 when my child came in my room. It scared me awake! He went walking off to Starbucks (again) and got another Frappuccino and cakepop. When he got back, I reminded him to walk the dog who was asleep under my covers after realizing that I wasn’t taking her out at 6:45am. So he’s taking her out at 7:30 when I have to get in the shower for my day.

I will take Styled like every Friday morning to get her hair and possibly her nails done as well as grocery shopping. Then after that, I am taking Ms. Forgets to see Equalizer 2. She said she loves Denzel Washington and loves going to see movies plus she will pay for my ticket and the time so why not? I haven’t seen the first one so I hope it’s not one of those movies that won’t make sense unless you’ve seen the first one!

Between those 2, I am going to go by Half Price Books and sell 4 plastic grocery bags of books that were in my house. When I realized that I have no space and I’m not going to read these again, I figured why not sell them?

Make a little extra cash and create some space in my room. I still haven’t organized the top of my dresser so it’s probably a good idea to get more space. I also have about 200 dvds that I could get rid of but I’m not ready to part with those yet. I don’t ever watch them (Netflix has almost everything) so I’m thinking about it!

I text with BFF and found out that she and a couple of other people are going to start keto. That’s awesome!!! I sent her a 30 day challenge to start it. If any of you would like this, I would be happy to send it. I got it from kaseytrenum.com who also has tons of keto recipes and grocery lists from a bunch of stores. I also thought of a good Instagram challenge for a person I follow that always does a new challenge each month. Her Instagram name is @holycrapimfat and she is very nice! The challenge? Drink a glass of water every morning before anything else. It’s tough but I think it’s doable. I know I need to do it!

I took Ms. Forgets to therapy yesterday and after dropping her off, realized that I will have spent 10-11 hours with her this week. That’s great for me. I need to make money. Especially since my child keeps going to Starbucks!

I watched a really sweet movie on Netflix last night. The Kissing Booth is about these 2 kids that were born on the same day and grow up together. So cute! If you like romantic comedies and teen movies, this is a must watch!

I meant to exercise with weights yesterday and forgot. Well technically, I fell asleep but still. I really need to get back into that and soon! I’m so afraid of plateaus! I have 18 pounds as of last Saturday to lose and I want to hit my goal before Christmas. It’s totally going to happen too! I also went over my calories by 10 yesterday. No big deal. IF I had gotten even a little exercise other than walking the dog, it wouldn’t bug me so much. It’s time to try harder.

Randomness

I watched 2 movies on Netflix late last night.

This was really good and based on a true story. It’s about a girl that started to get brain fuzzy and the doctors just thought she was crazy. Note: she wasn’t! That’s all I will tell you. I like movies based on real life. They are much more realistic!

This is one of those Hallmark movie types that a girl is getting divorced yet stays to help her ex mother-in-law pack up her house in some random town and falls for another guy. Eh. It was cute, don’t get me wrong. Just unbelievable to me.

I also read an entire book yesterday too.

Man this was a great book! A few years old but I’m telling you, Stephen King withstands time when he writes! It’s about a preacher man and his love of electricity and a kid that knows him and keeps running into the preacher throughout his life. I couldn’t put it down!

I watched the movies and went to sleep around 1am. I woke up at 6:30 to my alarm. My son wanted to go to church this morning for the free donuts at 8am. I am SO tired that I came home and I am writing this whilst back in bed.

I got into an argument with my son last night. He wants to have people over to swim on Tuesday. I work that afternoon so I told him he needs to change it to Wednesday. He had his friend ask his Dad to supervise instead! OMG I was pissed! I told him to change the date and stop trying to tell me what he’s going to do instead of asking. It was one of those “I’m the adult and you’re the child” arguments. And then this morning he lies about taking a shower that I told him he needed to take before going to church. I swear I’m going to have to ground him in the next few days if he keeps this up. And he’s only 13?!? Lord help me!

I have plans to cook today. I went to the store and spent $80 on stuff that I can cook and bake with. I hadn’t been able to find xanthan gum anywhere but got some yesterday at Kroger. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a thickening agent for baking.Whole Foods didn’t even have it. Whole Foods DID have macadamia nuts which was good other than the price of $10 for 8 ounces. Highway robbery at that place!

I also got sugar free cherry jello to make meringues. They sound very sweet from the recipe but maybe it will help those cravings around that time of the month. I got a lot of stuff and my mom offered to give me money when I got home but honestly, I may be broke, if I take it from her she will hold it over me later and I don’t want to deal with that. I have to have the ingredients to cook and bake so I will deal. It’s not like I have to buy these ingredients all the time!

Whew!

Yesterday turned out to be alright. I didn’t get any cooking done so no new video. That’s something I need to figure out. I found some apps that you can pause video but they cost money plus they have some AWFUL reviews! I may just make a 2 part video.

Netflix:

I watched 2 movies. I watched Mamma Mia. While I’m not a big musical fan, I actually wanted to see this. I didn’t realize how many really famous people were in it! It was good, I knew a lot of the songs too since most were from the 70’s. I told my mom I watched it and she asked if I watched the original. Is there another one? This had Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnon. I enjoyed it immensely!

I watched Pirates of the Caribbean- Dead Men Tell No Tales as well. I have loved Johnny Depp since I was young and he was in Freddy Krueger and Edward Scissorhands. It was alright, I really just wanted to see what all the fuss was over these Pirate movies.

I also watched The Worlds Most Extraordinary Homes which was really cool and 5 episodes of the new season of Grey’s Anatomy. So yes, I watched a LOT of Netflix.

I babysat these neighbor kids, one of whom plays with my son all the time. I did it as a favor to my friend, their mom, and she gave me $45 for 4 1/2 hours. That was nice even though she really didn’t have to pay me. She wanted someone there to make sure her boys didn’t fight. 13 and 9 years old so I guess they could have. They did their own thing and I watched Netflix. Why not? I also had a piece of birthday cake while I was there. So I had 80 carbs yesterday but that’s okay because I’m right back on track!

I got home around 4:30pm and sat around for a while. I guess I could have cooked…I was watching a movie though. At 7:30, I decided to get off my arse and go for a walk. The gym was already closed (my gym has very short weekend hours which sucks). I ended up walking the streets (god that sounds bad) and went almost 3 miles! I was so tired when I got home because of the heat and going so far so I just watched more Netflix.

I wanted to hit 3 miles but didn’t although I was close! I had planned on waking up at 5am this morning and walking again. That didn’t happen. My alarm went off and I just turned it off at 5 and 5:30. At 5:58, my son comes in here and says “Mom, what time did you want to be up by?” I said 5 and he replied, “Sorry, it’s 6. Good morning! I’m going to go play my game.” My child – sweet, isn’t he? 🙄

Today I have Ms. Forgets going to therapy. That will take about 2 hours out of my day. That leaves me plenty of time to exercise, watch Netflix, and maybe cook a little.

I got out of bed to use the bathroom this morning and Oliver the cat followed me in there. He loves to rub under your legs while you are trying to pee. So I had to let him while I finished and washed my hands. Then I picked him up, rubbed on him for a minute, walked into my bedroom and gently put him down outside while simultaneously closing my bedroom door to keep him out. Gotta love allergies, I had to use my hand sanitizer in my room after that. I got a picture of him in the window yesterday when I was walking the dog. He’s just so cute!

So that’s it. It’s now 7 and I need to get moving. Y’all have a great Monday!

Saturday and goals 😀

What a good day! First I want to talk to you guys about my goals and I hope you will share yours in the comments.

Weight goals: I have mini goals. For March, I wanted to lose 5 pounds. I’ve lost 1.4 and it’s halfway through the month. That’s still about 1/2 a pound a week so I’m okay with that. Will I get to my goal? I don’t know! Is it okay if I don’t hit that goal? Definitely! At the end of November 2017, I weighed 221.8. Yesterday on my weekly weigh day, I was 206. You will NOT hear me complain. I have come too far to quit. By my birthday, I want to weigh in the 100’s. I don’t care if I am at 199, as long as I am there by the end of June (my birthday is on the 27th). That’s still 3 months away and that would only be a loss of 2 pounds per month. I should crush that goal!

Another goal is measurements. I want to be in a size large instead of extra large soon. I will have to lose enough inches to do that. 10 maybe? It’s definitely doable. I mean come on! In November I was wearing a 2X shirt and after 4 months, I’m in a 1X! So I know I can do this. How many do I actually need to lose? I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. I will know how I’m doing when I can put on a large and it fits like the extra large does now, comfortable and not tight at all.

Another goal is food. This is my hardest goal. I need to drink and eat less sugar. That’s number one and I am going to work on that in April. I have (for the most part – there are days like yesterday when I felt like I needed the boost) already cut back to one energy drink a day and only have 16 left in the fridge that will be gone by the beginning of April. I am also drinking a TON more water during the day (8 today) and then having one more soda at dinner so I have cut WAY back (6 to 2 in the past 4 months). And desserts, cookies, pie, cake, etc that taste OH SO GOOD I need to cut back on as well. I say cut back because there will always be times when you go to a party and eat cake or bake cookies for an event and eat a few. I make things myself so they aren’t as bad as eating desserts out at restaurants but all that sugar is still not good! If my weekly cheat meal is a package of cookies, that is enough sugar for the whole month, not a meal!

For March, my goal was to eat more food and drink less calories. I believe I have accomplished that 16 out of 30 days (so far). Next month, I will be focusing on eating less sugar as well as drinking less.

It’s all about the tiny goals y’all. Small changes add up to big results!

Oh man yesterday was good. I woke up early and lounged around for about 3 hours after weighing myself and doing my best not to get down about the tiny weight gain. Then I got dressed, took the dog out for a walk, and then took my son to therapy. Then the gym. I’ve been at home doing Zumba for a couple of days and that’s great but I wanted to get back in the gym. Since my doctor took my insoles to be changed for the ever changing foot issues, I was worried about my feet hurting (no insoles equals flat feet while working out). That’s why I’ve been doing stuff at home. On carpet I don’t feel like I will hurt my feet nearly as bad as on machines at the gym.

So I did 30 minutes on the treadmill walking and running. Those little spikes are me running at 5mph which I am VERY proud of! I ran 8 out of 30 minutes today!!! I’ll be ready to run a 5K by summertime and that excites me. I also went into the steam room (NOT a sauna). It was too much after 30 seconds so I had to leave. I had already had 6 cups of water when I went to the gym and 2 more while working out and I was sweating for 30 minutes AFTER my workout! Yes, my feet and hips hurt a little when I left, that’s why I didn’t stay and do any other exercises.

Then I went home and watched the rest of 7 seconds. Then I watched Amanda and Jack go Glamping which was kind of stupid but after that heartbreaking show, I needed something stupid.

I decided to eat cereal for dinner. It went down way too fast and easy. That’s one of the reasons that I am stopping all this sugar. It goes down so easy and then you are hungry again in an hour or 2. That’s okay. I didn’t eat anything else, I went to bed around 1am. I took some Advil for my hip and watched movies on Netflix. I watched People Like Us and also The Gift. I loved People Like Us. It was totally different than most things out these days. Again, I LOVE Jason Bateman so The Gift was good to me. It’s a psychological thriller and I love that genre! It was either watch movies or go to the bar for beers and I didn’t want to do that.

Everyone have a great Sunday. I will be going to the gym today. Sticking to the bike though. I can’t afford to get hurt or sick again!
