Too long

I left the house at 6:15am yesterday. I got to school at 6:45 and started reading. I went to class and my anatomy professor still has a whole another lecture left before the test next Thursday! That’s 7 lectures for one test. Help!!!

I studied nutrition until it was time for Math. My brain was not on Math so I’m not sure if I understood anything he talked about. I really am blessed to have my sons godmother to help me! Then I went to take the nutrition test in what was supposed to be a quiet room. There were kids whispering half the time I was taking the test. I can’t really blame them for my grade but I think it sounds good! It can’t be because I didn’t study much, right??? 😉

I am VERY upset with myself! A C??? Really??? That means I missed 11 questions! Wth!

I can’t say I followed this yesterday although I am trying. I went to my orientation to a group at school and I actually joined them. They had a bowling event after the orientation but I wanted to go home. I had a little slice of the marble cake they handed out which is why my goals aren’t going that great. I don’t know why I can’t just stay on track! Until I ate the cake, I was doing well yesterday. I took plenty of food so it’s not like I was starving. 😕

We are set to do our first community service thing this Saturday.

We will be helping them organize the clothes. I can do that! I have to study as well so that’s all I’m doing for the next week. The club officer told me that was fine so I will go! They do a lot of bake sales so I told them I will help with those for sure.

I am taking Styled to get her hair and nails done today and then coming home to study. I hope you all have a great Friday!!!

Crazy busy day but so good too!

I started off yesterday by driving for the company. I got 2 cancellations and 3 redirects before I was able to actually pick someone up so I was VERY frustrated. I had already arrived at one of the cancellation locations so I was paid $5 for that. I thought that was nice although still frustrating.

Then I took Styled to get her hair done and I went grocery shopping for her while I was waiting. I had to overspend to get what she wanted but she paid me back so that was good. Obviously she paid me for the time as well.

After I dropped her off, I came home to eat and then went to meet the new client. She doesn’t think she needs a driver but said we can try this out and go grocery shopping next week. That’s good for me! Woo hoo! Another friend of my mother’s to drive around. Lol

After that, I drove for the company again. I had to take this one guy to the smaller Houston airport and instead of fighting the freeway, I took the shortcut I know and shaved 5 minutes off the drive so he was happy and gave me a $4 tip. Yay! On my way back, I stopped at a Starbucks to use the restroom and get coffee. They didn’t have what I normally get but made me a dark roast coffee on ice and I LOVED it! It is the best coffee I’ve had there! The weird part was this Starbucks only had a walk up (NOT an inside store) and a drive through. The guy helping me had the same name as my son, told me he would make me that coffee that I’ve never tried, and had to give me a key to use the restroom. It was a weird Starbucks! Great coffee though!!! So good that I didn’t even take a picture of it, I drank it too fast. 😂 I even used a free one I had earned from purchasing stuff at Starbucks for my mom and my client (since I don’t go there for myself very much).

I then picked up a high schooler at his school and took him home which was literally 3 blocks from my house so I stopped driving after dropping him off to make sure I would get to my sons school in time to volunteer last night. When I got home, my mom asked me if we should do anything on May 4th to remember my Dad. I’m like, I don’t know mom, what do you want to do? She said “Oh, I don’t want to celebrate. I’d rather not remember on purpose.” Umm, okay? Do whatever you want to do, I will probably be at the cemetery to see him again. She replied, “Well, he’s not there so I’m not going.” Wow mom. Okay.

So here is the best part of yesterday. It is a total non scale victory. 3 to be exact. They gave me a t-shirt since I was volunteering and I asked if it was an x-large and I was told “it is but you don’t need an x-large”. Also…I have never been able to put 2 shirts on without it looking like I painted the top one on it would be so tight. Check this out. I didn’t have any problems last night!!!

I am so happy and still on a high from that compliment and non scale victory!!! Then after I worked out, I sat on the swing in the park waiting for a friend of mine to come over and I was able to swing! It didn’t even stretch the seat out when I sat down! My friend took a short video of me on the swing. You can check it out on my Instagram.

I went to the gym and walked for 45 minutes on the treadmill. I was going to just do a dance video at home but today is weigh in day and measuring day so I wanted that workout in. I also had a good calorie day, even with being at the school where they had cookies, brownies, and muffins plus a full Italian dinner I could have eaten. I didn’t eat ANY of it! I came home and ate the food I had already cooked. Woo hoo!

Weight was 199.2 on March 26th. Weight today is 190.6!!!

Chest is down 3/4 of an inch. Waist is down 3/4 of an inch. Hips are down 3/4 of an inch. Thigh is down 1/2 inch. Upper arm is down 1/4 of an inch. Okay, that may not seem like a lot but people are starting to notice now so it must show a lot more. I’m excited!

If you are on myfitnesspal, feel free to add me as a friend. My name on there is juliehcares as well. I wasn’t very hungry again although I did drink 87 ounces of water!

Today is pretty easy. I’m driving for the company and taking my son to therapy. That’s it. My son doesn’t want to go to the gun range like I wanted to. He said he still has visions of being shot by paintball guns and isn’t ready to shoot again. Hahaha!!! If he only knew how hunting worked, right?

I hope you are having a great Saturday. Tell me what’s going on in your world!

Labor Day

Small business owners, retail workers, even some city workers do not get today off. Yes, it’s Labor Day! I will be working for 4 hours. I’m going to do laundry and bake a cake while I’m over there. It keeps me from going insane just sitting there.

Woke up to realize that I am out of energy drinks. Since I’m broke, I will not be buying any either. I’m having a Pepsi instead. SO not the same though!!! I prefer Full Throttle. It tastes like Mountain Dew and works well. Everyone gets on me telling me that I shouldn’t drink them. I’m sure those people will be happy now! So I have my Pepsi, I ate flavored rice with cheese for breakfast (yes, I know that’s not a normal breakfast), and now getting moving to go over there.

I looked at my calendar for this week and I have one job a day. That’s one more a day than I had the past week and a half so I’m okay with that! My man needs to come over and fix the commode. He thinks it is leaking due to a broken ring. I think it’s just a cheap toilet (only 2 months old) that only cost $80 and it’s broken somewhere underneath that we can’t see. I guess we will find out!

My son has another week off school. He is now supposed to go back on September 11th. I see irony in that. Let’s change that date into a good thing. Yay for school starting!!! His school district here has flooding at different schools and therefore will have to crowd the other schools so they can start. The state gave us 4 days and we will have to make up 6. My son is worried that it will cut into his next summer vacation. 😂

He had a friend over yesterday. They watched videos, ate, and seems like they had a good time. I hope the kid wants to come back. My son, with his aspergers, loses friends at times. The kids Mom said thanks for having her son. I think that’s a good sign!

Harvey victims are still cleaning up here. We are having other cities come in with garbage trucks to help get rid of all the water damaged property people are cleaning out of their homes. We as a city thank all others for everything they did to help. Y’all have a good day and I hope you’re off!

Day 3 of Harvey

We are still here, safe and sound. Last night a couple of my neighbors invited me to a hurricane party and I got a bit drunk and probably said too much (I tend to do that when drinking). I had some awesome Louisiana boudain too so it was a good time. We watched crazy people try to drive through the water and watched the rain bands as they rolled through, all while under the carport sitting at a table with the grill going.

My man decided to drive to his place yesterday to check on it. He only took Westheimer. It took him over an hour to get there (20 minute normal drive time) but he did not go through any high water and stayed safe. I was going crazy while he was gone with worry. He finally made it back after 3 hours and told me basically his house is ruined by water. It did not flood in his neighborhood, the ceiling just started caving in as a result of all the rain.

Houston is definitely devastated. Some freeways are completely under water. The news even called one of our main thoroughfares Lake 288. It is that bad in places here. No, we did not evacuate. We were told to stay at home. Nobody could predict how bad the water would be. Harvey did not hit us but it has caused chaos in this city. We have had more rain here than Tropical Storm Allison in 2001 which devastated the city too.

I have checked on my friends, family, and clients. Everyone is safe. That’s the main thing for me. Everyone needs to stay safe. I am worried for anyone that has water in their home or surrounding their home. One of my friends had to be boated out of her neighborhood because the water was up to a foot inside their house. Thankfully they were able to get out and get to safety. I feel for the thousands of people here that have now lost everything. I hope people will open their hearts and wallets to donate and help the victims here. Our convention center opened for victims of Harvey and they are completely packed. Thankfully our city always comes together like no other to help each other. It’s one of the good things about being here.

Everyone else please stay safe and if you can, there are tons of places to donate to help everyone here that needs it.

Salvation Army

United Way

Pet shelters too! Can you imagine how many people have lost pets right now??? I don’t know what I would do if Amber got out in all this!

School orientation

Today was school orientation. From 8a-2p. My son had to go to every class like he would on a regular school day. He was happy to not have the same P.E. coach and that he has the same art teacher. I met with his art teacher too. He told me that my son was a great asset to his class and he looks forward to having him again.

I volunteered at the school store sale while he went to his classes. It was supposed to be for 2 hours. I was there from 11-2. My feet are killing me now that I’m finally home!!! I did almost 5,000 steps just walking around the cafeteria helping people buy shirts and gym clothes.

The good part of helping out is that I got to see a lot of parents that I haven’t seen in a while. The bad part is that I was wearing my flip flops and now I’m in pain!!!

I have one job tonight and 4 tomorrow. I spent $46 on school uniforms so I need to make up for it! Not much else going on. I want to relax for a while before I leave again. Have a good one!
